3 Tips to Fight the Flu

by | Sep 30, 2019 | Seasonal | 0 comments

It’s that time of the year again – flu season. The holidays are fast approaching, so staying healthy is important. While the best way to avoid the flu is to get a vaccination from your local Heartland pharmacist, we have a few more tips for you to keep in mind.

Steer Clear of Illness

If possible, avoid close contact with those who are displaying flu-like symptoms. The flu virus is highly contagious and airborne, so it is essential not to get too close.

When In Doubt, Disinfect

Make sure that you are washing your hands and are careful about the things you touch. Someone who is sick might forget to wash their hands before touching knobs or other commonly shared objects. Use disinfectant spray or wipes before touching these items.

Get a Flu Shot

To ensure that you will be flu-free this season, the best solution is to get a flu shot. At Heartland, vaccinations are covered by most insurances which mean no charge to you! Our wait lines are short, and no appointment is needed.

Visit any of our nine Heartland Pharmacy locations during all business hours for a flu shot today!
