Recently we shared tips with you all on how to avoid the common cold. Now, we are focusing on how to treat it if you or your loved ones have recently caught the virus. While there is no cure for the common cold, there are methods to help get you through the 7 to 10 days of discomfort. We have listed two important tips to help you get over the cold.

Get Rest

Take it easy for a few days. Your immune system will be hard at work fighting for you to get better. Because of this, it’s best to do yourself a favor and get much needed rest. Pushing your too much can lead to others around you catching the common cold or make you more vulnerable, thus taking you a longer time to get well. It’s okay to just relax until you get better.

Take Over The Counter Medicine

While rest is important symptoms common cold symptoms such as coughing, sneezing and congestion can make it difficult to do so.There are many medicines that can help you overcome symptoms of the common cold. Decongestants are recommended to relieve a stuffy nose and sneezing. If you are experiencing aches and pains you may need to take aspirin or ibuprofen.

You can count on your local Heartland Pharmacy to provide you with the medicine(s) you need to combat the cold and get back to feeling better in no time. Keep in mind that we have a free local delivery service. Relax and we will bring your medicine to your front door!
